Operation Cerberus

Is the Channel dash in the game as I am coming up on Feb 42 and just wondering if I can give our big ships a hand.

Quote:
Operation Cerberus took place in February 1942 Operation Cerberus is the name given to a dash up the English Channel by three major warships of the German Navy – the Scharnhorst, the Gneisenau and the Prinz Eugen. They had been effectively trapped in Brest harbour by the British but Hitler ordered that they should return to Germany. Any run through the English Channel was seen as being fraught with danger – but a Fuhrer Order had to be obeyed.

Hey, hey.

I will have to plan out to get a head of those big boys as they will be going flat out.

I hope the dates and times are spot on.

Quick look at the SCR tells me they leave Brest at 23.45 on the 11th Feb 42 doing 30 knots

Just north of Alderney 0621 on the 12th

Between Calais and Dover 15.47

Pass between the sub nets at Wilhelm 1415 on the 13th where they disappear

The timings dont look too far out

A little late going through Dover

The leaving time is spot on

Quote:
But at 22:14 the "all clear" sounded. It had been a very close thing, but the operation could now go forward. By 23.45 all the ships had slipped their moorings and were out in the roadstead.
As is the time off Alderney

That's why I need to be well in front of them. Have a couple of Allied destroyers chasing me right in the direction of our big boys. They will not know what hit them.

As for the nitro that's a good question.

I bet the destroyers will run away. That would be a laugh and a first.
