Default Very noob question

Well I played the first mission, I completed the objectives and reutned to the port. Stoped de sub in the same place that I got him but the mission doesn't end. I stay forever there watching the ladies. How I end the mission? Also the second mission I receved is the same of the first, execept the sector that I need to patrol, is this right? And what is the best way to escape when the enemy starts to ping the sub?

Thx for all!

Yes, you are sent to patrol an area, go there, stay 24 hours and then go hunting for real targets. Or the other way around

When they ping your sub, you don't escape. At least not until they're done dropping cans. Otherwise run silent (1-2 knots) very deep, turn often and pray.

Oh, yes, and:

Stay out of shallow water! Stay out of Der Kanal!

Simple question but the answer is pretty complex. Generally speaking, you should turn your bow or stern towards the enemy. Your profile has to be as small as possible. Showing port/starboard to the DDs is not a good idea...

For details, try to look around on forum posts, especially here

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=104377

but there are tons of posts explaining different evasive tactics. Just take your time and keep searching

Even if you bring the sub all the way back to the pen, you still need to hit 'Esc' to end the patrol. You can do it from 25KM away & still get full credit as long as it says "Dock at: " and not "Return to Base". If it says "Return to Base", you won't get the full renown that you need to upgrade your sub..

It's normal to have the same patrol area ie "AM" but a different grid.. Sometimes BdU will get confused and send you across the Atlantic in a small sub. You can still leave on patrol, go somewhere else and return for partial renown credit..

When you're engaged with the enemy, you can't just quit. I save after every contact, so if I get killed, I can reload to that point..

Good Hunting..

Well these guys covered much of what you asked.
I'll just add when you are detected evasion isn't always by the book. If your in waters less the 90m a crash dive could prove to be your undoing. However you can "C" if you remember "A" {maintain current depth}. A crash dive slams engines to flank and you make some noise on a sharp dive. Early war you can sometimes get away with a standard dive "D" & silent running.

It's up to you if you want to park your boat in the pen or 29km from the pen hit esc and the game will let you dock in whatever harbour your in.
