Default GWX Team owes me £30

Greetings from Kapitan Vitch, U-95

Ok so I got a gripe.

Let me start by explaining about myself. I am a bit of a computer geek and I love to play computer games. I'm not normally a one game guy. I usually play a game to death for a month and then I'm bored and move on to my next one, which I play religiously for a month and so on.

Now I got SH3 about 8 months ago and did my usual month/bored thing and moved on. However, with the christmas lull in new releases I had nothing new to play so I dusted off my SH3 disc and checked the forum for patches/Mods. Enter GWX.

Now I've done about 8 weeks, doubling my normal 'attention span', but yesterday after a seriously crappy patrol (29 days, 3 small merchants sunk, U-Boat sunk by DD) I decided to move on. Now this decision was motivated by the fact that I have the shiny CE of SHIV pre ordered, so a month on a new game and then SHIV fits in with my monthly attention span.

Anyway, went out today and got myself a copy of Supreme Commander, a superb looking game that has consistently scored 85 - 90% in the major PC review press. Got in from work and installed and off I go, but....

...God Im bored!

Managed about 2 hours of play and got fed up so decided to go back to the U-Boat. Started a new career and found a juicy Revenge Battleship babysitting a convoy. So now I have 48,000 tonnes of shipping for 5 torps and IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!

So seeing as that the store wont refund my money on software and it looks like I'll be addicted to GWX for the foreseeable future I'm hoping that the GWX team can see their way to refunding the money I laid out for the game that they've made me not want to play.

I know, SHIII (and GWX specifically) ruins everything. I can't begin to describe how much productive work time it took out of me.

Please don't use the "w" word around here. My conscience is bad enough as it is.

Much like you, Linavitch, I have a short attention span.

I recently got GWX and it's almost like a whole new game with new pucker factor. Sure, I would've fired up SH3 again, but I wouldn't have stuck with it for very long.

Damn fine job boys!

I hope you continue your excellent work with SH4.

I can't really argue with that. I've got bags under my eyes from all the late night sessions I've been putting in recently.

Guess I'll be ebaying Supreme Commander then!

Hi Linavitch.

I like you would have left this game a while ago without all the hard work done by the GWX team and all the other modders. All my other games are sat gathering dust by the side of the computer and every time I feel like trying one out I always come back to this game.

Mind you I don't think this forum helps much, I read what other people are doing and before I know it I'm out on patrol again.

With SH3 and SH4, my life is going to be hell!
I have left an appointment book for my wife to schedule visits, etc.

Long time lurker here...

I know exactly what you mean. I played the vanilla SH3 fairly heavy when it came out...then on to other things (like the life sucking Oblivion.)

Dusted it off...Downloaded GWX a few weeks ago...

My sleep deficit is just ridiculous right now. I'm doing good to get in bed by 0100 every night.

This is as good a place to say it as any...A big thank you and a round of applause to the GWX team for making a good game just flat out excellent.

Hi, I've rolled up a £30 note and attached it to one of my Homing Pigeons and told it to fly to Hull. He will take off once the rain stops.:rotfl:
