HMCS Chilliwack was a Flower Class Corvette, her armamaent was as follows:

1 × 102mm
1 × 40mm
2 × 12.7mm / 7.7mm
2 × MG Lewis
ASW (DC×25-40)

IMHO the damage was done by 40mm shellfire

I'll do you one better. Here's a picture of U-333 returning home after she was rammed by the tanker SS British Presitige off of Florida.

So you think Kaleun Peter Cremer turned around and went home when this happened? Nope! Here's what he wrote in his war diary after this happened:

"Intention- ahead into Straits of Florida. Surfaced by day, in no circumstances return home without steamer." He ended up sinking 4 ships on that patrol.

anyone saw the picture of an german boat with a big whole and i mean BIG whole in the stern torp section? holy ****. seems to be from a depth charge...and it reached the base. the photo shows the boat in the repair-dock.

i saw it in the book "die eisernen särge" by herbert a. werner
