How popular/useful are the crew management features of SH3 ?
I'm not a regular player of SH3 but I believe there are two aspects to this 1. The management of "fatigue" 2. The upgrading of crew between patrols. Thanks |

I couldn't stand the stock version fatique, so now I'm using Jasons 24h Holl for fatique, with only slight changes done by me.
Qualifications / promotions: Ranks in the game are not modelled with care, but I can live with that. Qualifications are ok, but it would be nice if officers had somewhat different combinations for qualifications. I mean, no combination Engines - Artillery - Medic for example. Maybe Engines - Mechanics - Controls, that sounds much better for me. Well, that's easy to mod. so I did it. |

I never did like the fatigue system, and turned it off for the longest time.
Recently i found a way to "fix" it where it added to the gameplay, without the micromanaging ive come to hate so much. http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=47186 |

Yes I think crew managment is one of the more cumbersome aspects of the stock game. It is too early for me to provide a definitive opinion on the subject. I would like to complete as many patrols as possible before I cast a final judgement on this subject.
