[REL] Jimimadrid SubManagement

Today I present the new graphic backgrounds for the SubManagement.

SH4 normally uses a graphical background for all SubCompartments.
Now you can experience the differences visually.

! Now available for 1920x1080 & 1600x900 & 2560x1440 resolution. Can be activated with the MenuMerger.

The changes also affect the German side:

Since SH4 only provides one background graphic, you have to change a few things in the menu_1024_768.ini.
that's why I created an application to make the changes with just one click.

This application is the SH_MenuMerger.

With the SubManagement Backgrounds entry the Backgrounds will be visible in the Game. As the changes are in the menu_1024_768.ini, you have to close SH4, do the changes and start SH4 again.

!No need to be in port or start a new game!

With the SH_Menumerger the changes can also easily be undone.

Additional Addons provided with the SH_Menumerger:

Renown Nixie tube -> This changes the renown counters to a nixie tube stylish

New Rank Icons

New Abilities Icons

New Crew Icons - The new Crew Icons, now also available for the german sailors

Bigger Face Icons -> Get bigger Face Icons as in the vanilla

Additional Version (included):

There is also an more detailed Version of the Damage and Torpedo Background.

Since the different submarines show changes among themselves,
it is necessary to switch the corresponding data with the following application i created herefore.

The Uboat_Selector

V1.0 has a wrong pointer to the images. Replaced by V1.01 in the Mod
(V1.02 as standalone download -> https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/dow...o=file&id=6274

Here you can select the desired submarine and append the changes. The 'No Specific Class' switch back to the version for all boats.
Since FotRS and TM have differences, it is also necessary to select the appropriate mod before applying the changes.

You get also nice information about the different Uboat Classes.

BOTH APPILCATIONS ARE INCLUDED IN THE SubManagement MOD.

Installing the SubManagement Mod via JSGME, both Applications will be in the SH4 Folder available.

Just a heads up that it's not starting with me either. I've got the SH Menu Merger program working great, but the Uboat Selector one flashes then disappears. I started the task manager and it shows 144K when trying to start, but then just disappears from the task manager when it shuts down.

I have the Net stuff installed, but it's the US version -- if that's what you would call it.

I'm running Windows 7 - 64 bit and I've tried to run the selector program normally, with Administrator permissions, with Windows-7 compatibility, and with all of the above. Still nothing.

The ini file is never created. I made one manually, and nothing. I copied the info from the french one, and still nothing. I made sure the "Modname=" line matched. Still nothing.

I hope the tech report helps somewhat with this. I'm fairly certain it's an issue with something we have on our setups. Trying to figure out what it is will be another story.

You have done a WONDERFUL job on this, so keep up the great work and I hope this tech report helps.

PS: The task manager says, "WindowsApplication1" on the far right when the selector program is trying to start, whereas the task manager actually says, "SH_MenuMerger" when that particular program runs.

Feel free to use whatever you want from my Mods. Also to change Part of the graphics or whatever you need.

El Cid, (what for a great name for us spanish people)

i will try to rework the Uboat selector to get a more stable versión.
This was a very quick written Applikation. It stops when it noticed that some things are not in right position, before
crashing the Game.

It shows Application1 because i was too lazy to fill out all fields on visual basic, and let the standart settings.
I never study programming and therefore i do not use standart rules and routines to work correctly. 😁

as i was about to shove off on my next mission (third), i noticed on the Equipment screen that my Renown total was 275, which seemed incorrect after two successful missions with no upgrades.
so, i checked the other two screens and the Renown had the correct total, 6275.

Hi Kaleu Marco,

i will check it tomorrow. I reduced the digits because it uses the 5 digit background and this do not look good with the bulb image. I will rework it.

ah...then it was purposeful.
as long as you are aware, then there is no issue with "losing" renown.

one more thing, as long as you are opening up the code....
when promoting a NR to a Rate, the promotion mini-window displays with yellow text on a light background which makes the text difficult to read.
now, having said that, veterans of many careers can figure out the various rates, but it is difficult to see.
i would include a screenshot, but i have promotions available. (lol)

Hi Kaleun Marco,
found the error for the missing digit. A wrong line has slipped in the "Submanagement backgrounds.ini" and must be deleted.

Deactivate the mod in the SH_Menumerger, also in JSGME. Delete the line. Activate with JSGME and in SH_Menumerger.

I upload a corrected Version in the Downloads.

I do not know which graphics are included. With trying to change Textcolors in SH4 i get no results.
So that we have to change the used picture to a darker background.

To found that image i will provide you with a little Application i have written.
With this you can check all images in the Menu_1024_768.ini.

Whe you found the image tell me the subsection number.
