Will this group be marked as surface or sub group on the campaign map?
Where best to find them?

SSBN and SSGN are escorted by SS and/or SSN, so it's a sub group. Your orders should have said the area to locate the target (location named on the map, with GIUK gap meaning Greenland-Iceland-UK gap).
