Icon13 sticky destroyer making me CTD

So I was wondering if someone has a solution for this.

After a succesfull convoy raid, 2-3 ships sunk, I managed to get out into a safe zone for saving and reloading according to Vecko's recommendation of around 60-70km from destroyed units.

But after my successful raids, I always get a sticky destroyer and even if I am at a safe zone for saving, when I reload, my game becomes corrupted and CTD. So the DD is the responsible for my games being corrupted but I can't take it out...

Any ideas in how to work this out???

Try to delete special.txt file from your corrupted save. Not necessarily that this is "sticky destroyers" because this bug has never been associated with CTDs...But large airplane formations in your area certainly can corrupt your gamesave...

Hi Vecko,

Thanks for the response. Yeah,I have tried that the very first time that happened but this is what I noticed.

Such file is around 100kb and after I delete it, I refresh the folder and it automatically appears again but now is only 1kb (is that normal?). I tried to load the game and it failed.

Also I noticed that for every failed trial to load a game,a new set of saved game directory is created. In addition to that, how do I identify which file is the one for a particular saved game? As there is no indication anywhere.

Also I don't recall any planes close the convoy during the attack both times my save has become corrupted I was been chased by a sticky dd.

Thanks a lot.

Time of gamesave creation...

I should add that I encounter "sticky destroyer" bug something like 1 or 2 times per campaign chapter, it seems not even close like you do.
Do you use any unsupported mods, alt-tabbing the game a lot, using high TC with units in your area or similar stuff?

No, only TWoS. I don't usually alt-tab while playing, but this time I did as I was to tired and did not want to close the game... ._.

Any idea on the special.txt. file?
