Default Millitary vessels in port?

I've been on a couple of runs, raiding Ishinomaki, Yaizu, Truk atoll (twice) and Davao. However, i never seem to find anchored millitary vessels (CV/BB/BC/CA/CL) only merchant ships.
Which, for Truk atoll, i find suprising considering it was the main staging area for the pacific fleet.
Are the millitary ships in the homewaters, Hiroshima and Kobe? Im running TMO.

(btw I know that Yamato and Musashi were based on truk islands, tough later than my gametime)

Bonjour,

You are right. Trigger Maru Overhaul is a great mod but it does not reproduce the historical convoys. This is not his vocation. Other mods do.
However, the day you go infiltrate Truk with historically present ships, you will have 1% chance to get out alive.
Truk is a real locker lobsters.

In the harbor for Kobe, you will find warships at anchor. (I use TMO and have made a Kobe run twice, finding multiple capital ships there each time). Kobe is also heavily patrolled, and there are shore batteries. I sneak in at night, during bad weather, and leave before dawn if I can.

Its exciting, but very risky.

You need to be a lot more specific about what mods you might be running. Stock, TMO, RSRD; all completey different.

Since you mentioned Yamato and Musashi at Truk specifically:

This is Yamato and Musashi at Truk! I took this screenshot a long time ago. Was in an old version of RSRD.

Yeah, im using TMO (2.5) with RSRD (5.?).
But its december 1942, so around the securing of Guadalcanal.
Raiding Truk is very rewarding, despite there not being capital ships,

About 50 000 tons worth of shipping sunk

If you use RSRD Truk is almost always full of capital ships, certainly 42-43 and often ships are in port at places not marked on the map, staging areas, such as Tawi Tawi.

Guess i was just unlucky both times. Perhaps the combined fleet was near Solomon's for the large battle there was there.

I would say that's certainly a possibility.
