Default Trigger Maru Overhauled v2.7

At the risk of world ending catalcysm, I have decided that it would be appropriate to release Trigger Maru Overhauled 2.7, provided to me for evaluation by Ducimus but never subsequently released. I don't think I ever unzipped the file and I know I never used it. If nothing else, this brings the file home to Subsim so that it can be preserved no matter what.

So I'm not sure the exact changes that Ducimus made to this version. I suspect that one was to include the small patch, but I'm sure that if that were all he did he wouldn't have given it a new version number.

So I'm asking help. When you run it, when you notice changes from 2.5 post them in this thread. I hereby certify that this is the actual unmodified copy of TMO 2.7 provided to me by Ducimus and that I have no contributions whatever to the content thereof.

Enjoy! TMO 2.7

Thank you RR, At first glance it looks like he did away with the TAMBOR campaign (The 'Terrible T') and took it back to 2.0, while (hopefully) keeping other improvements he made in 2.5; possibly fine tuning those?

The change log is from 2.0, as is the Readme.

A comparison using WinMerge may be the easiest way to find out.

Many thanks RR! Downloading now. Tomorrow I will have a first impression.

I hope Ducimus did some changes to the horrendous environment in TMO 25.

Best regards.

Well. I run SH4 15 with this TMO 27. It seems the version 20. Not includes patch to TMO 22. It seems Duci sent you a TMO 20 and could there be some changes. No Nisgeis 3D TDC and new radar. Could be a beta over TMO 20. Environment is that on TMO 20/22.

I didn't see any significant change to call this mod a new TMO 27.

Only my first impression.

Regards.

The same thoughts as Fitzcarraldo here. It seems to be 2.0. I have 2.0, 2.2, & 2.5 installed, (for comparison purposes) and now this version.

I think TMO 2.5 with the small_patch, plus an environmental mod like ISE v2 (not v3 : ) with the ISE realistic colors is better... plus 2.5 has the option to play the TAMBOR campaign (The 'Terrible T') which I really like.

Ducimus really has a very nice (imo) campaign in 2.5 that many people miss out on because they think they 'need' RSRD. Like Ducimus said, 'if you don't like his campaign try RSRD'.

VERY interesting. So this might actually be a regression from TMO 2.5?

Could be. But eliminate the Nisgeis stuff don't seem Ducimus style.

Regards.

I agree totally. I looked at all the Balao submarine files and the modification dates on the 2.7 version are all older than those on 2.5. At this point I can't recommend replacing 2.5 with 2.7, especially with the loss of Nisgeis' great work. I'm going to have to research exactly how I got the file and backtrack for clues here.

In the meantime, I sure wouldn't be jumping out of 2.5 into 2.7.

This is from the Kickinback ftp server, to which I have lost the logon information I need to research further. Nobody is around kickinback.com, where most of this modding used to take place. It was the place where Nisgeis developed the 3D TDC and Ducimus integrated it into TMO. They were very hot on that project and I know Ducimus wouldn't have subsequently abandoned it.

I have an old backup of my XP machine that might still have the info I need but nowhere to restore it to right now to check that out. Wonder what gymnastics I'd need to go through to convince Acronis True Image to install that in a virtual machine? Could be very interesting......

And equally interesting is why the version 2.7 number was on this apparently older version of TMO aboard the kickinback ftp server.
