With Thanks to privateer for pointing me in the right direction This adds sh4 like visual damage to the sub when you take hits from shells etc. Link (install with jsgme) edit - I changed a file that I'm sure no other mod uses.. it should be compatible with all mods I know of I tried to add damage how sh3 showed it also but sh5 can't use that controller with a granny file. In sh3 the flak/deck guns got damaged.. they had a separate model for the damaged state and sh5 doesn't have that.. I tried to add that also. The big thing is that even tho I didn't touch the conning tower files if a shell hits the conning tower it'll show a hole on the outside .. but be fine when your in the tower. I didn't realize it when I took that pic but 2 seconds later it was game over screen.. and I was trying to get a pic with the damage and a destroyer above me.. maybe next time.

Hey guys,
Did you guys change anything else in the .zon files? When I use this mod nothing gets damaged except the Radio Antenna. When I turn it off I take all kinds of damage. No mods conflict with the .zon files for subs so not sure how anything but this mod is making the change.

Oh sorry. I forgot to mention I hadn't tested with DC's. I'm checking on that now. SH3/4 used controllers that in many instances don't work with the granny files and one of them is that damage displays on the sub based on damage taken. What I added was just a decal .. you take a direct hit .. you get a decal. Same as how the ships show damage where the torps hit. But dc's do splash damage same as bombs. |

Ahh yes I see, I can take damage above water np and it shows the damage decals. When I submerge I take no damage and see no decals.
Perhaps why the controllers we're left alone by the devs, it seems broken.
