What kind of sick [insert expletive of choice] would do such a thing? Clearly this act gave the arsonist "something".. some benefit. What could that possibly be? How can one's life be enriched by deliberately burning animals to death?

The arsonist needs to be separated from our society. There is simply no place for this person among civilized people.

My utmost respect to the residents nearby who broke into the shelter to rescue as many of these dogs as they could.. at great risk to their own lives.

The appeal fund set up by the local paper, the Manchester Evening News, in aid of the Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Homes charity had originally set a target of just £5,000 (about $8,100).

I have heard from the animal rescue organization I volunteer with that the total donations are over $1.5 million.

I keep telling myself that for every bad person, there are more than one good person. Some days it is harder to believe that.
