Default Can't update 1.1.5 to 1.2

This is my first post and I registered here because this problem has been bugging me a lot. I know this has been referred to A LOT and it shows up in countless google searches, but none of the solutions given actually help and I just can't update my SH5 Gold Edition (got the U-play version for like 15PLN which is like 5 USD +/- a couple of cents) from 1.1.5 to 1.2. I tried EVERYTHING to get this game updated as I really want to play it with mods. I tried updating it via the launcher, then downloading the patch manually. I even downloaded a .7z version of the 1.2 patch and unpacked it in the game directory (overwriting the files) and even that didn't work (error message said something along the lines of "sh5.exe is not a win32 application"). Pleeease help.

Are you installing patch to correct directory?

c:/ubisoft

Also, remove all your mods, it should auto start download of update.

Failing that, run C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\Support\GameUpdater\GU.exe.

A warm welcome “SovietRobert“ to the Subsim family.

You will always find someone here to help you.

Link to my SH4 - SH5 posts:

Step By Step Tutorials & How To Do It

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=211804

You update the game after the Uplay installation and before you press the play button.

Go to the ‘Ubisoft Folder.’

Go to the ‘Silent Hunter 5 Folder.’

Go to the ‘Support Folder.’

Go to the ‘GameUpdater Folder’

Double click to run the ‘Gu’ ‘Application.’

This will update your installation to the current v1.2

This will show in the top right corner of your screen when you load the game.

See my Tutorial Post #62

I have no idea what happened, but I have a feeling this is just sorcery or just some subsim magic, but a re-install of the game finally made the gu.exe work and my game was patched. Thanks for the help and thanks for the welcome!

It IS Subsim magic!

Close your eyes and click your heels three times while saying "There's no place like my uboat", "There's no place like my uboat", "There's no place like my uboat"!

And just like that *poof* you will be there!
