Default [WIP] Master deck gun mod

I've started on a mod to enable the use of all US surface ship deck guns and AA guns on a fleet boat. If there is interest I may add torpedo launchers and Japanese and German turrets (or make a separate 'captured weapons' mod). My main focus will be to make it compatible with TMO. This should allow for customizing surface ships too.

Progress:
-6" double turret, fully functional, fore and aft and both
-8" triple turret, fully functional, one location (looks ridiculous, very powerful)
-6" triple UK, fully functional
-14" triple turret, fully functional
-40mm Quad AA, functional, needs modeling work for sights
-16" Iowa, fully functional
-14" double turret, fully functional
-18" Yamato, done, fully functional
-16" double turret, fully functional
-11" graf spee triple turret, fully functional
-5.9" graf spee single turret, fully functional, now manned by US sailors
-5" single turret, fully functional
-5" double turret, fully functional
-40mm twin (rework), not started
-4.7" single, fully functional
-40mm twin available as deck gun, mostly functional with CTD fixed
-40mm single available as deck gun, finished, not tested
-modified submarine to allow clearance for BB turrets, not started
-mini yamato (half size), functional, needs texture
-mini iowa (half size), functional, needs texture
-mini graf spee (half size), not started
-mini 14" triple (half size 7"), not started
-5" Mark 45 gun, started, working on model
-3"/50 available front, rear, both all years
-4"/50 available front, rear, both all years
-5"/25 available front, rear, both all years
-5"/51 available front, rear, both all years

This is giving me all sorts of funny images in my head.

I'll post up later what an early Gato looks like with fore and aft mounted 6" double turrets... quite menacing. As a test I blew ballast 1500 yards from an Asashio and blew it to bits in no time.

I'd love to see what the Iowa's 16 inchers or the Yamato's 18 inchers look like on a sub.

Does anyone know where the notes files are that contain the description of the weapons on the sub weapon screen?

You will see that, although, the conning tower might be an issue with guns that size so maybe one turret of that size per sub.

Lol!

Yamato turrets on a sub?!?!? Is this a weapon or a propulsion system?

Screenshots or it didn't happen lol. Seriously, I'd like to see it.

(Maybe put the conning tower(s!) atop the turrets.)

I will probably move the conning tower aft and make the big guns fwd mount only. I think the sub would tip over in real life, but hey, how fun would it be to decimate a ship with one volley?

Well with some just for fun mods you can easily do that.

Sorry, but I don't understand what you want. If you want to have the info for the guns you're adding show up in the game, the file I pointed you to is the one you have to use.

Now if you're looking for the info to put in those sections, try this:

I was talking about this info, I'm wondering where to find the file to edit it. I believe the UPC file defines what info is shown, but the file that contains the actual verbage is somewhere else.

Twin 6" Double guns annihilating an Asashio

6" Triple UK

The file I pointed you to is the one you want then. It's the one I edited in my Office Links, Info Boxes, and 50 cal mod, so I know it works.

You can download it and look at how I used it if you need a template for your stuff.

What you're looking for is in the Localization.tsr You may have to create the entries yourself. Edit the file using notepad.

That file is ONLY for the torpedoes. For guns he needs the UpgradePacks.upc file I pointed to.
