Default How can increase the batteries enegry?

I tried to edit the Type XVIII becomes Type 21 by S3d , when I opened the Uboat18.sim to change the submerged speed to 17knots , the Batteries enegry will be empty within few hours even just keep 5knots to patrol. but the Type XXI should keep 5knots speed in 60 hours in reality.

Does anyone know how to increase the batteries enegry?
my english not gd enough just hope you guys know what i mean , thx bros!

You have to change the miles variable as well.

From your example:

5 knots * 60 hours = 300 miles, so on uboat21.sim(or whatever the file name is) under unit_Submarine -> Ranges -> Submerged you have to change both speed=5 and miles=300

thx bro, I tried that already but still decrease enegry so fast even set 5 knots , I dont know why 5knots will spend more enegry than 17Knots or other speed, I tried many many times

You can try changing the values for [EngineProperties] in NSS_(subname).cfg, it might influence fuel/battery consumption, but I'm not sure.

You have to add the Dilithium crystals to regulator.

Forget the Dilithium crystals your boat doesn't use them, have a read of this thread http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=207791 there's a download of the file\s in the OP, study the file\s and make the adjustments you need to your own files.

underwater mass, drag, and displacement can affect your range too but when you tinker with one thing other things can be changed without realizing it like floating and sinking behavior.

what are you trying to do? if you are looking for changing battery life for one speed setting then you will distort it for the other settings.

the game has limitations to what you can do and certain speeds are close to realistic while others aren't but you cant change one without changing the others and the game was designed to balance this and have the best feel to it.

bottom line is you cant just change how it acts in one speed only without causing other issues
