Take two!
Scientists wanted to catch a sand tiger shark, and had their bait in the water. When they pulled it out, they had this: ![]() A spurdog shark (up to 1 m) had found it first, but then to his misfortune was surprised by a much bigger sand tiger shark.

Makes me wonder what's coming up underneath the boat to get the Sand Tiger shark...
![]() Great picture. I must admit, Sharks, though very misunderstood creatures, do unnerve me slightly, not quite as much as Piranhas, but it's those eyes, some animals have them, the eyes of a very effective killing machine. I do like the Hammerheads though, they are very cool looking sharks. ![]() |

No nurse shark ("Ammenhai"). Article said it were a "Dornhai" (spurdog, spiny dogfish) and a "Sandtigerhai" (sand tiger shark, not to be mixed up with the tiger shark, which belongs to a completely different shark family). Since it was a scientific crew doing shark research as their profession, they probably know the difference between a spurdog and a nurse shark.

Ah, in German the shark family of Ginglymostomatidae is called Ammenhaie, (nurse shark) but that also is used for one specific shark species only. Sand tigers belong to that family as well, but are never called Ammenhai in German, but Sandtigerhai. When we refer to Ammenhaie, then we usually do not mean the family, but the single species only that is not the specific nurse shark.
wikipedia says the family of Ginglymostomatidae is small and includes three species only.
