Leutnant Eggfartz came up to Balz, clicked his heels and saluted. "Herr Kaleun, The ship is ready for sea."
Balz removed the tea cozy from his head and picked up Adolf the ship's cat who had been sleeping on Balz's head.
"Are you sure?" Balz asked.
"Absolutely, Herr Kaleun. From stem to stern and top to bottom, everything is schwoogie."
"Very well, have the crew muster on deck," Balz said knowing that never ever everything was schwoogie. Someone or something always deschwoogied or outschwoogied. The feeling of foreboding increased as Adolf the ship's cat said, " Mieeewww."

On deck, the crew was in formation according to Balz's standing orders.
Nearest the bow stood the choir Voices of the Deep. The twirlers stood by the deck gun.

On the wharf a bevy of nurses had gathered to say farewell.
Balz sent them kisses. His gaze focused on the torpedo trailer. "what are those eels doing here, marring the neatness of our departure?"
Bernard pointed at the deck. "We have just finished loading,"
"We were loaded yesterday."
" I loaded practice torpedoes today so that we can practice on real targets and become super experts." Bernard grinned.
"How does one say murder in Japanese?" Balz asked Eggfartz. I want to commit brutal murder in Japanese."
"Murderoshima?" Bernard asked.




I am going on a trip. Will continue in a cople of weeks
