Default Best ww2 submarine warfare books?

Wondering if someone can recommend the best books for ww2 subs for German, British, Japanese and American navies. Will love to read some histories about the subs of those nations.

Thanks.

Yikes that's like asking who is the most beautiful woman.

Could you give us a little more information on what aspects of WWI sub history you are interested in?

Are you more interested in technical history? Tactics and policy? Political

The best place to start is probably War Beneath The Sea, by Peter Padfield.
http://www.amazon.com/War-Beneath-Se...eneath+the+sea

It gives a good general overview of every nation's submarine operations.

If you should buy it or anything else from Amazon, remember to use the link in the upper right corner of any Subsim page. That was Subsim gets a small cut.

In my opinion, the best one about German U-boat operations is Dönitz and the Wolfpacks.

These are my personal favorites...

Clear The Bridge! - O'Kane
Wahoo - O'Kane
Submarine! - Beach (Good overview of all U.S. submarine warfare)
Operation Drumbeat - Gannon (My Favorite)
Iron Coffins - Werner

I am looking into buying "Thunder Below!" by Fluckey and "Midget Submarines of the Second World War" by Kemp. Has anyone read these? Thanks.
