U-25

Im going to write about the patrols and adventures of a fictional submarine, U-25. The real life U-25 is found here-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_submarine_U-25_(1936)

The kaluen of U-25 sat on a small crate looking at his U-boot, moored at Wilhsmhaven habour. The invasion of Poland had begun just a week ago, and the success of Germany was seemingly guaranteed. He had just made a speech to the crew and sent them to ready to board the ship. For the last 2 months they had been training around Wilmshaven, readying their type 2 for action. And now they would begin their first patrol on the 8th of september 1939.

At 15:00 U-25s engines came to life as it left the docks of Wilmshaven, heading out on patrol around the english channel. This would take an estimated 15 days at sea, and U-25 could go for 20 days on it's fuel reserves. After they had patrolled the english channel closest to germany they would return to Wilmshaven for 15 days while everything was checked and they were re-supplied.

10/9/1939, midday
We have just reached our area we are to patrol, just inside the english channel. However a firece storm is coming across the land, and we cannot operate in that weather. I fear it will continue throughout tommorow without reprieve.

10/9/1939, 18:00
After fighting the storm for several hours it has pushed and rolled us miles, and now we have spotted land. Our engines are being over-worked in an attempt to continue on our way and we are having atleast a little sucess.

The strom continues as fierce as ever, and the men are having trouble sleeping many seeing who can stay standing without holding unto anything the longest. We have been unable to get a weather report from BDU because of this accursed storm, and so I predict atleast another day of this weather.

We are lost. We have not sighted any land or ships all day and this strom seems to go on for ever. At about midday it stopped raining for about five minutes. Then it came down twice as hard. Now we have lost were we are and until the weather clears up we cannot contact BDU. The men are growing weary as little sleep has been accomplished. I just hope this doesn't go on.

We have been weathering the storm relentlessly and still no sighting we can get our bearing on. Little sleep and rough weather was made the crew weary. I may return us to base after we get out of this storm.

We have just spotted a coastal freighter out of the mist. The storm is becoming less fierce and we have found our position. We are at the other side of he channel now and so it will be a day or twos journey to our patrol area. We will report the ship to BDU as we are currently unable to engage because of the waves.

We are currently patrolling our area however we have seen no shipping as of yet. I am preparing the crew for a journey through the channel in hopes of finding something to shoot at.
