I am about 1 step, or less, from throwing this game into the trash...
I have got patched up to include a portion of v1.3 (by TDW), on that I just got the Hphones working (I hope) as the other stuff can wait. I competed the tutorial and started new campaign (as directed) as using OHII. Yes, I have tried to follow the directions as well as possible. Started new campaign > selected Coastal Waters> selected Difficulty> selected skip for 'Tutorial' and it then dumps me into the Sub pen and I go up to an officer and am given these options: 1. What are my mission orders? 2. Let's start the new mission 3. Nothing more to say 1. Question: If I select #1 it explains about the Royal Navy and blah, blah, blah but then I cannot break out of it. I get stuck there. I cannot navigate the sub out of pen or etc so I assume that I do not want to select this one, correct? So, I select #2 and end up on the Bridge and I navigate the boat out into North Sea, is this correct so far? (I hope so or it most likely is going into the trash) 2. Question: Out on the North Sea I figure I should do a few practice dives so after checking the depth of the water I tried to go to Periscope Depth and/or Crash Dive but the icons are whited out and the text says 'Can't submerge while crew on deck' or something like that. I can find no way to get the crew off deck or how to submerge. Yes, I have tried the keyboard also. Yes, I have selected the Watch Officer but no-joy. 3. Also, notice that I have NOZAURIO'S SKIN (U-552-Red Devil Emblem) v-1.0.0 Mod loaded. However, on external view I see no Devil Emblem on the tower. I've no idea. You have to get off the deck and into the boat and then issue the dive order. The crew will automatically get off.

OK...let me calm down... Ok, then I assume there is a keystroke that allows me to quickly go to the control room or someplace below rather than use this ridiculous awkward interface. I will look for it. Thanks. At least I now have an idea what I'm suppose to do... Rick |
