So we have this dinner thing going tonight and I want to amuse our guests with my limited mixology foo (Oh yes, they will laugh

). From what I've read a shandy is half-and-half beer and cider. I wonder if anyone here knows of any special recipes, certain mix proportions, etc...

...or we could just spam the thread with more beer talk (That's basically the point anyway).

Well, from my limited knowledge on the subject,

there is no wrong way to drink beer.

Depthcharges are fun. Drop a shot glass of whatever hard liquor you like into a large glass of beer then down the lot in one go.

Since we have more experience with submarines than with depth charges, we call the drink "Uboot" here

In my region it's made with Jenever in a 0.2 liter Alt beer glass.

I once drank 8 of those in the space of two hours at an army reunion. I felt no pain until the next day when I was sure that I was going to die.

That reminds me of my first encounter with sake... Had a great night, but the next day was sheer misery. It was the second-worst hangover I've ever had.

Yep, these mixes are very popular here, especially in the summer. Every region has their own name for these mixes.
Better than using the Coke lemonades, which are only made with tap water, the local lemonade brands are preferable, as they use mineral water. This way you give your body the minerals back which the alcohol draws out of the body. Your head will be thankful the next day!
