hello all i havn't been here for a while. any how i was wondering if it's possible to dive deeper with out scareing the crew like there all hunched down and stuff. i have a boat that can go to 180 meters but for some reason the crew freaks out when i go that deep. and sometimes i need to go deeper.

Why? Just scare them.

Being scared does not affect morality. Being scared raises the adrenaline level in the blood system to the level that you don't feel being scared at all. Your crew are submariners, thus not everyone can be a submariner, they have to pass all kinds of tests including psychological before they are being allowed to serve on submarines, this was in the past and it still is in present. I assume you raised this thread because these warnings about critical depth plays on your nerves a lot ? It has to be so! This is another factor of immersion that does it's job.
I used to use the option in SH3 comander "randomise u-boat crush depth", untill the moment I tested it on purpose with VIIC. I managed to reach the depth of 330m (before it my boat was damaged by DC a bit with some equipment destroyed ) when my boat got crushed by pressure. IMO this was not realistic situation so I'm not using it anymore.
So morale had little to do with being scared about the depth.
What really was hitting morale was a bunch of dud torpedoes that germans had.

Well you can always try it out

I could tell you how it is from my experience, but I feel would ruin the fact of uncertainty
