Iranian indeed, she is the IRINS Yunes SS 903.

That photo confirms she was in bad shape at the start of her Red Sea deployment.

Take a look at her after she returned home earlier this month, note the lack to anechoic tiles.

ABBAFAN, hope you don't mind if I send your photo to a few people?

They do a better job losing anechoic tiles than they do enemy ships trying to track them.

After looking over the pics, I'm not sure those are loose/lost tiles. They're symmetrical on both sides of the boat.

I'm speaking of the three black rectangles that look "disorderly" on the boat's bow, forward of the planes. The pierside pic shows them on the starboard side, and the waterside shot shows them on the port side - they're angled and arragned the same way on both sides.

Flood vents, perhaps?

Yes they purposely removed the tiles on both sides. And they cut new flood vents in to the hull in that funny cockeyed way.

Lookit you, whoring the post count. 2 away from 10K. Well-done - here's a +1 opportunity, too.

Note that there is a LARGE section of tiles removed...

That isn't hydrodynamic or stealthy.

And edge that can cause a disruption in water flow could kill a submarine.
