The FX mod is now v0.19 and no longer requires the UHS fix.
The UHS settings are now in the IRAI mod so UHS is not required.

The no hydro is in the MODS folder inside the IRAI mod so open it up before installing.

shouldn't be IIRC. I moved all of those to the Add-Ons mod which they can find at bottom of post #1 of the UIs thread.

Did I understand this correctly, the "UHS 1.7 for TDW Mods" is not needed anymore or was this post only referring to the "FX Update UHS Fix"

Thats right. Most of the UHS 1.7 mod important characteristics have been merged by TDW into his late version mods (NewUI, FX), if I'm not mistaking - since NewUI v.6.5.0. The same is with "Air Torpedo" mod - it is merged into IRAI

...thanks for the emerging clarity. i think stoianm's vid tutorial's need updating. im following them to the letter but now the mods are merging into other mods.

this will be very tricky for incomers with no experience of SH3-5 series wanting to get onboard.

i struggle at the best of times.

i have just installed RO2: Heroes of Stalingrad from Steam. plays well very stable and tripwire got the patches out quickly from what i can tell. shame ubi could'nt do the same.i can't help wondering where SH5 would be without the modding community - dead probably.

I've been researching the mod scene & sitting here reading the forums for 2days now.
I can relate to what you are saying when there needs to be some sort of regulatory and standard when it comes to mod naming conventions as i am new here and knowing what mods are superseding other mods is doing my head in.

I have checked out some mod 'soups' and dl their list of mods. Is this the best way to do it?

hi Mace, yes its a head masher!!

here is my current mod list:

Generic Mod Enabler - v2.6.0.157
[C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\MODS]

Magnum_Opus_v0_0_1
Anti-Lag
Original map colors
Shadow Improvement ModLR
NewUIs_TDC_6_9_0_ByTheDarkWraith
Manos Scopes-patch for 8x5
Depth_Keeping_Problem_HB_2_0_0_TheDarkWraith
TheDarkWraith_DC_Water_Disturbances_v2_0_SH5

i have no idea if this list will work. when i activated the last two it seems to be ok. there were no conflicts. but i have not tried them yet. some large mods conflict with other ones and yet it seems that sometimes this is alright - even necassary.

at the moment i will keep it simple, im no techno in these things but i sure would like to MY SH5 stable and running smoothly.
i think you need immence patience for this......one mod... at a... time!

if you are uncertain you could always PM the creator of a new mod your mod list and the one you whish to use with it and ask him directly if there will be a conflict.

if you are lucky enough to get a stable mod list post it here for all to see!!

good luck AND perhaps for now - KEEP IT SIMPLE

ps: YOU MUST WATCH stoianms THREE VIDEO TUTORIALS TO UNDERSTAND THINGS LIKE 'MANOS SCOPES PATCH' this particular one is to do with your screen resolution on your monitor and how it works within the game on your periscope - there is some maths needed but stoianm shows you how to do it.

flag4

dont give up - keep bashing away at it, you'll get there

Yeah I am going through the http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=1629509&postcount=27 videos too and cannot find certain mod files (is the search function broken- it is not giving any search results for "FX_Update"

I have also been using this thread http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=190656

99% of the mods you're looking for are found in the SH5 mods forum. You need to do forum searches there.
