Default Editing audio files

Not sure if that's the right term for what I want to do... I'm wondering if there's a way to take several existing audio tracks/files and combine them, one after the other, so they play as one file.

For instance if I rip a Beethoven symphony of four movements off my CD, I get four separate files, one for each movement because each movement is a separate track.

What I'd like to have is one file that contains all four tracks played in sequence but I don't know if that's possible or how to do it. Is there some program that does this kind of thing?

Get Goldwave (free unlimited trial, just starts to spam with messages if you use it continuosly for too long).

Just open the first track, then open the second track you want to add after the first one. Copy the 2nd, select the end of the 1st track and paste. Very easy to use, have used Goldwave for sound stuff for years now.

Thanks, I will give it a look.
I just want to try making one file out of some of the multi-track classical stuff I have, to put in my SH3 Gram folder. I use Commander to randomize the tracks but that wreaks havoc with trying to listen to something that's one work spread out over 3-4 tracks.

And then I have to hope that having a file that big doesn't bugger my game in mid-patrol.

Forgot to mention, after you copy the 2nd track, you can use CTRL+M instead of CTRL+V to mix the track into the 1st track. Just select the part in the end of the 1st track you want to have the 2nd track to start fading in and press CTRL+M and ok (the default settings are ok most of the time). Gives a nice cross-fade effect.

Sounds cool but I think with a symphony generally the conductor likes everybody to come to a full stop before they start up the next bit of business.

OMG THANKS YOU GUYS!

Now I've got Beethoven's whole violin concerto in one file to listen to on patrol.

And so on to the symphonies... gah I may be up all night playing with this.

Edit: HOLY CRAP it even plays things backwards...

Some good sound editors:
Cool edit pro
Adobe Audition
Sony vegas (look up the appropriate one) or get the Sony Vegas Suite.
Sound forge

I use sony vegas movie studio where I can also use it to just edit sound but its mainly a video maker.

You forgot Wavelab, it cost me a bit but love it, I had Sony Sound Forge, was good but it didn't utilize VST plugins!
