Default what SH5 needs

this is an opinion piece keep in mind:

What i think SH5 needs is

1. a truly dynamic campaign spanning the entire war. Truly dynamic in the sense that you are not ordered out to the sprawling Atlantic ocean with instructions to sink an exact/specific ship or exact specific type of ship by a specific date. spanning the entire war as in a) realistic August 1939 sailing dates through May 1945.

2. More believable crew. no 50+ year old navigators. No eye patched men. none of that BS. (i know, i know, there is an eye patch removal mod.)

3. More realistic interiors: in other words, detail, immersion, and not leaving important parts of the boat out. give us the dinner table, give us the crapper, load the boat up with food that dissipates over time.

what else does everyone else wish SH5 had?

As the StateMachine class no longer works like it did in SH3/4 this will be very hard, if not impossible, to do Losing that class has put a big hamper on what neat and exciting things can be done with SH5

yes but had you looked a bit harder you would notice the increase in ASW patrols as a result of your "failure" to bend to the will of ubi's mission orders

The one time I tried that, going on patrol without a mission, there were no ships in the port. If there aren't ships there are there any out at sea? I didn't have the patients to look. So I started over again with a mission.

If there is something worked out/finished in SH5, thats the dynamic campaign engine. And its working great, at least after 43 its just amazing, I experienced this at full working on the extended campaign. You can play the whole SH5 campaign without accepting any mission and still have loads of fun.

I think SH5 needs to be re-evaluated as things have moved on quite a bit from v1.2 and there seems to be a lot of misinformation floating about.

The megamod release would seem the most logical time to do that, with the following objectives:

1. Overall rating of SH5 v1.2 + MegaMod
2. What is still considered broken?
3. What is still considered to be a weakness or poor implementation requiring improvement?

Where is the dining room on the boot? AFAIK We already have it, its just folded away and now being used as a bunk/chart table.

As far as adding detail, and changing things to be more historically accurate for the interior, you can try my interior mod V1.2. It does not add any missing parts of the boat, but it does a lot of other stuff.

The only thing keeping me from playing is the lack of merchant ship variety.
