Default I gave up on SH5

I finally gave up on sh5, and i reinstalled the great SH3 with GWX.

After a couple of patrols i found myself searching for my copy of Das boot dvd......That game was awesome. It really puts you in a real u-boat during the the IIWW, cant believe that they destroyed it with SH5.

Its like to have two totally different games....

Why state the fact that you're leaving? If you don't like SH5 fine, why tell the whole world about it. Unless you're looking for help to improve the game I usually see no point in posting the fact your quitting a game or forum. Alas I feel stupid for posting into this thread already..

No I'm up too early reading about a kid who is whining about a game and feels the need to proclaim to the world.

Sorry I'll stop feeding the troll

enjoy not playing SHV! I shaln't lose a wink of sleep over it!

Seriously, people need to chill out here. So some people don't like it, great, you don't have to. Is there any need to let us all know about it?

I thought this was the SHV discussion forum, not the 'I'm not playing SHV' forum......

You and a lot of other people around here. Except for better graphics, I would say that SH5 is a major failure. No surprise really, knowing how Ubisoft has an established reputation for releasing half-finished, buggy games. Not to even mention their horrible customer communication and support. I don't think the company has much life left in it.

It would have been interesting to read what the OP did not like about the game, but there was no mention of what the OP did not like or what flaws he thought the game had. It has been my experience of these forums that specific complaints about the game are met with helpful suggestions about what mods the OP could use in order to get more enjoyment out of the game or to address the specific problems. The people here are very helpful, but you have to want to be helped and give a bit of information.

Does that count for everyone equally? If it does, then there's also nothing wrong with continously jumping on threads giving the same responses over and over either. Personally, I disagree with that philosphy. Having the same discussion over and over again doesn't get anyone anywhere and it doesn't make for an interesting discussion either.

From the Ubisoft Investor Website...

For the first nine months of fiscal 2009-10, sales totaled €661 million

That equates to $878,303,306.42 USD for 9 months sales.

Yup... they are pretty well done.

Here's an idea.

Not too sure how many of you guys are members of Facebook, but there is an anti DRM group there

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=312298689495

It's not too active at the mo - but maybe you could join up with them - see what can be done.

You're all welcome to add me too, I'm there under my real name "Adin Roberts" Just make sure that you let me know your forum name here (not too keen on adding strangers)

Sorry for the hijack - but I thought it worth mentioning.

You are not telling the whole story, nor giving dates. Sales and profits are two different things. Any company can have high sales, and still operate at a loss.

UBISOFT® REPORTS FIRST-HALF 2009-10 RESULTS

Sales : €166 million

Current operating loss of €78 million, in line with guidance

Among the comprehensive list of numbers in Ubisoft's first half fiscal 2009-10 report, measuring performance in April through September 2009, one figure stands out: the French company's reported €52,027,000 in not-profit. That's right, Ubisoft's profits are down by more than €70 million (over $100 million) from the same period last year to rest firmly in the red.

From a profitable first half of fiscal 2008-09 of roughly €24 million to just over €52 million in losses in the first half of fiscal 2009-10, Ubisoft's profits have experienced a year-over-year change of -316.53 percent.

* puts on some anti-Flame Apparel *

There.. much better.

I hate to say it, but I'm kinda in the same boat as TC though I wouldn't go so far as to say I've had it and will not play this game ever again.

I am simply not playing it until it gets patched up to what I would consider a "playable state". (And yes, I have all the recommended mods etc)

If Ubisoft can't be bothered to patch the game up (I consider the list of 1.2 to be a step on the way) then I will simply stop purchasing anymore Ubisoft products. (I have been a loyal Ubisoft customer since Rainbow 6 on the xbox) I bought a game expecting a decent experience, not to pay Ubisoft to become an unofficial Beta-tester.

For now, all I can do is say Meh! while flicking my right hand in a dismissive manner.
