I know this is lazy but can anyone recomend which mods to use with SH5 and in what order I should install them with jsgme. Obviously I do not want too many as no doubt there would be conflicts.
I haven't played SH5 much since I got it as I am very disappointed with it so far and I have been waiting for a supermod to correct a lot of things in one go but alas that doesn't seem to be on the horizon currently, hence my request. I do understand that the amount of work that goes into these supermods is immense and I take my hat off to the modders that do so. Maybe the NYGM or Grey Wolves are working on such a mod right now (fingers crossed ![]() For now I plod along with SH3 NYGM and GWX Gold. I never really took to SH4 as it needed the GWX touch. |

No, there are no super mod groups currently working on SH5.......Well, no "official" super mod groups.

The OP poses a good question. I don't consider myself lazy--in fact I'm quite self sufficient--but after browsing this forum, were I to try to form a list of "must have" mods, I'd be screwed. Every time someone asks "what mods?", 30 people post their JSGME (great app btw, kudos to the obviously handsome developer) activated mods list. Thanks, but honestly, it doesn't help. How is someone, possibly new to either modding or Subsim, expected to know what a "IRAI_0_0_22_No_hydrophone_on_surface_No_Aircraft_ s potting" is without continuing the search further? You guys who have been here since SH5 was released know what it all means, but some new guy is gonna think you're speaking Swahili. It's been 6 months since SH5 was released. Surely the collective minds of the "elders" here could put their actions to where sorlim's mouth was and create a collection of "must have" mods to start the ball rolling for a "supermod", or heck, even just an "unofficial v1.3 patch"? Even if just to help out the poor suckers (erm, new guys) who didn't know better when they bought SH5 last week. You're not going to get extra units, extra years, extra boats, extra patches even, in the next short while, so make the most of what you've got and try to make it easier for the new guy. If you're all serious about making SH5 the best, well, start "selling" what you have to the new guys to keep them interested and sticking around, rather than them giving up because it's all too hard and going back to SH4/Op Monsun or SH3/GWX. Sorry, it's just that I am seeing a lot of individual brilliance here, but that will only go so far unharnassed. ![]() Still, it hardly addresses compatibility or conflicts... a list of mods in a five month old sticky is even less useful, IMHO, than a current JSGME activated mods list. At least, with the latter, you have a likelihood that the mods don't clash. Besides, there's no moderator in this forum, or if so, he went AWOL long ago. Hardly a glowing endorsement by Subsim for SH5 mod support... |
