Beyond the Border

I was paltroling the North Atlantic seas when I came to think if it is possible to go beyond the mapped grids in career?

And if so, is it possible to go as far as to the North Russian ports?

You can go beyond the grid on the map.
When you continue to sail north you wil eventually "hit"the North Pole.

I've always wondered that. I also wondered if you could go across the pacific boundary, But I don't think so with the Pacific boundary.

Not sure about the game, but if you could navigate across the North Pole you very well be in the Pacific, to bad in RL at the time it was impossible to chart a decent course across the North not just because of the ice burg but also because of the fact that regular compasses, which were use then, wouldn't work work properly at the magnetic poles.

Safe Trip...
and Happy Hunting...

Just another question about going beyond the grid...

I just relised that there is a port just south of India and I was just wandering if it is possible to get there and be left with enough fuel to return ?

I mean hit literally.
I even managed to sink my boat when I was trying to steam to the pole @1024.

If memory serves me correctly. If you go to the polar regions, you'll eventually hit an ice wall. The day and night cycles i recall being relatively correct too.

If you go extreme East to west or vice versa, what will happen is you'll get "telported" to the other end of the map once you cross the border of the side your currently on.

All areas off the KM grid, are reported in lat / long coordinates.

As Ducimus has sted, you will come up against a huge land mass something akon to a brick wall, it is impenetrable and will sink your boat should you decide to try and force your way through it.

Default Why?

Why would you want to sail to the pole? Has someone told you there are Ubi polar bears and seals to see?

Now, I could understand wanting to sail to the South pole. After all, Ubi scientists have established facilities there and send their best programmers there. You know the ones I mean, those with good ideas. A few months down there and they are willing to do whatever silly things management want.
