Default Do I need the tour for U505?

Hi there,

in about one and a half weeks my wife and I are gonna visit our new and shiny nephew in Chicago. Naturally I want to go to the Museum of Science and Industry and have myself a good look at the u-505 exhibit. Now I wonder if I do have to get ticketes for the tour. I'd rather not have a tour through the uboat. I'd hoped you could just walk through there like you can do with the USS Cod in Cleveland (was there last year - really really great...go there!! ). So I guess my questions are:

Do I have to take a tour to see the insides of u-505?
If so, do I have to book in advance?
And further if so, do I have to book in advance weeks before or just a couple of days?

Thanks for any info on that topic!!
