Default Arcade feel?

What's the overall feeling regarding the Arcade feel to the game? Does it have more of an arcade feel to it than previous versions, and are we confident that it can be modded to feel more like a sim? just curious.

It definately has a more arcade feel by far. Hopefully the modders can make it more of a sim.

Totally disagree.

Feels just like all the other Silent Hunters but with amazing graphics, added Immersion and, IMHO, a nice slick interface.

I really think they have made some effort on this one - Makes SH4 seem like a real rushed effort to make some quick cash. SH5 has obviously had a lot of attention.

I'm not dismissing the fact some important things are missing and there are a few bugs - but so far this is an amazing effort considering what we have had to put up with in the past. I have a feeling Patch 1 is gonna make us all happy.

Personally, and with respect for different views, I don't find it especially arcadish. Granted as built and esp on full automatic, it has some arcade features. The interactive highlight stuff is perhaps an example, but there's already a mod to ditch that.

I'm now on manual targeting, although still with map contacts, and already I find that less arcadish. De-select map contacts and my expectation is that there should be essentially no arcade feel at all.

This is only in the beginning, in the ''tutorial''.

For the rest I agree with cherbert.
