Default ALL SUMSIM.com can not deny the absolute truth

that we all live in a dream and have throughout the whole of our individual and collective lives. Every member here remembers dancing on the floor, looking over their partners shoulder wishing for the something and believing there is "a better than what is". Members of SUBSIM.com we have "all been there", and always we will be, FOREVER, wishing that something is better than what is. The same dream "is" always wished by everyone of us here and everywhere.

Subsim.com members currently are "as" standing over a woman in labor with every predujice toward something unborn, evidenced by posts glutenous with disrespect and malice detrimental to the development of "SH5", while "knowing" that proper development and nurturing will be taken care of by, in our case, the modders.

Gentlemen and Gentlewomen, I am as you with the same predujice.

ALL MEMBERS OF SUBSIM.com ARE IN AGREEMENT THAT CERTAINLY THERE WILL BE SOMETHING, "eventually", that is better than "what is".
Remember, I and us continue to live in "what is", and that is the only absolute lest someone here present an alternative and meritorious arguement.

I am with you reference "SH5" and presenting the real life experience we live and trying to throw something "LIGHT" on this burdensome topic....I am with you mates, Ships..., the real me........

PS: Let us have some fun with unborn babies in a respectful manner.

Respectfully accepted sir: I believe the modders, as you, also deserve only "cudos" as they will get a "plate full" from the start. I add, I was the father of a "bastard" child and truthfully empathise your feeling, and in my case I saw it through and still am a supportive father as the "bastard approaches 40 in August. Holy **** I did not think this would evolve into your mentioned but feel I must address this also. It has only been a few minutes since starting this thread, and I feel that I have a plate full. Thank-You sir and may the blessings be if you are receptive........I am always your mate, Ships...

As to the yet unborn, we shall see.
The intention of infecting it with DRM/OSP is a work of malice.

Mr. brag, you bring forth an addressable issue in that "intent" is perhaps the keyword that has convicted many historically. Thank-You for replying

I understand what your saying Ships.

Would we love an unborn child less if we learned prior to its birth that it had a disease or deformity? As a parent, I can say I wouldn't love that child less. In essence, if I understand you right - is comparing SH5 to an unborn child - and the DRM to the disease or deformity.

The difference is that as parents, we recognize that nature sometimes takes paths we would not have chosen, but that neither parent has control over. In this case, the DRM chosen by UBI (and I am ok with them using DRM, just that this one is excessive) is akin to you and your girl knowng she is pregnant, then her deciding to go smoke like a chimney, drink like a fish, shoot snort and smoke drugs like Lil' Wayne with the knowledge that such actions could and likely will harm the baby developing - all for her own selfish reasons. This is what UBI is doing. We as the "other" half of the equation see what the dangers are, we are doing all we can to encourage UBI to stop this destructive behavior before we are stuck with a decision to either "support" this upon its birth, or make the decision to turn our backs on it.

With a baby, the father has no legal rights until that child is born. We as a community are in the same boat. However, with SH5, we can legally decide to NOT assume the responsibility of paying for the software once it hits the shelves. Its amazing how this shows the paradox of abortion - but the reality is that UBI is acting like a teen mother with thoughts of invincibility and a selfish attitude, and real life is going to come smack it in the face at some point. It always does.

I would submit the feeling around here is less that of being at the dance looking for something better than that of waking up hung over and seeing what came home with you from the dance while wishing you could chew your own arm off to get away.

In all fairness though the evidence seems to be that the target demographics for SH5 are far younger and in all likelihood have greater disposable income and less resistance to intrusive DRM schemes than the typical SubSim member. Your own thread in the General Topics some time ago demonstrated that a significant number of us are middle-aged f**ts and in none of the electronic entertainment fields are we the target anything.

Those predicting doom and gloom for SH5 sales are not really taking this into account. It's possible that SH5+OSP could be marketing disasters on the order of the Ford Edsel or the "New Taste of Coke" or it could well become a UBISoft cash cow with the kiddy crowd. Watch and shoot...

That is your perception/viewpoint...and one I believe to be shared by more than a few here.

All will be revealed in March.
