Default Officer ordering ahead standard while rigged for silent running?

Yeah that makes a lot of sense to me. Unless you set ahead to 1/3 before you lay a course in, they will just fire the damn engines up almost full bore while you're already rigged for silent running. Just blew my cover while positioning for a convoy.

yeah if stationary that does tend to happen, annoying as hell so i always set a speed (usually 1 kt) before setting a course.
would like to know how to edit that option out though. also the annoying thing where you hit the return to course option and it automatically sends you to F5 map screen

It is ours to do or die, not to reason why!

I hate that popup window with 3 choices when a plane is spotted.

Or ship for that matter.

Unfortunately, the developers totally ignored all the work of SHII, which was really very good. While I am at it, the ignored the AOD which also was fun. And finally, they ignored the great fun and great multiplayer involvement of the destroyer command.
If UBISOFT has any sense, they would make SH5 a two sided game with a surface command and an undersea command, both Axis and Allies for each.

I recommend you get 'Easy sub control keys' by snider. Brilliant tiny mod & works with GWX3 probably earlier versions as well. It will change all your keys so print out the key page.

Just some of the key changes which i could not do without.

C - Return To Course, Surface, Ahead Standard
V - Ahead 1/3, Periscope Depth, Hydrophone Normal Sweep
A - Hard to Port (hold)
D - Hard to Starboard (hold)

The A & D keys you just hold down, when you want to go back to amidships just let go of either key.
