Default MINE LAYING question

This is a question for you modders out there.

One of the constraints of SH3 with regards to mine laying as im sure you are all aware, is that if you were threoretically able to lay a mine, you must remain within a specific distance to get credit for the kill.

Secondly, nobody has been able to figure out how to lay mines in SH3.

but i have one question or rather a series of questions

in SH3 when you fire a torpedoe and it reaches its maximum range, the propulsion system stops, and the torpedo sinks and explodes.

is it possible to introduce to the game a new torpedoe type which can be selected in the load out screen?

if so,

could said torpedo have a range of "zero meters" meaning the moment you fired it, it would sink to the bottom straight out of the tube?

if so,

could said torpedo be made so that it does not explode when striking the sea floor?

if the answer to all of these questiosn would be yes.

could it be implemented into the game so that the player, at their own descression, could simulate mine laying missions, even though the mine laying would be just for show?
