What in the world mean "BDU " with that ?? I never seen this before ! Do they want me to abort the patrol or what??

It's just gloss that's all.

But back then in 1943 U-Boats were withdrawn due to the high lost rate for a period of time.

There were a few occasions during the war when U-boats were withdrawn from the Atlantic to help with planned invasions/major operations:

March 1st 1940 (not 43 STEED )

In Berlin... The final directive for the invasion of Norway and Denmark is issued. Sumner Welles (US Under-Secretary of State) arrives for talks and meets with Hitler who says "there is no other solution than a life-and-death struggle."

Indeed. Quite a frustrating experience as well for Dönitz, as were the ordered pentrations into the Med later in the war.
