Default I'm gonna kill my watchcrew RIGHT NOW

<rant>

I'm gonna shoot those f*ng idiots. Here's why:

1) Why the H*LL do they have to announce every single ship in a convoy by yelling "schiff gesichtet" when they see her for the first time??? I can't take that stupid parroting anymore Is there a mod available somewhere that fixes this, or is it yet another hard-coded game "feature"?

2) They drop their contacts in a totally random fashion. First they might see, say, a merchant 9000m away for a long time, but the next second - and I mean literally - when you ask them for a nearest contact they see nothing. The circumstances, however (i.e. the weather & distance, etc.) stay the same.

3) They randomly switch the contact they think is the closest. You ask them one second, and it's a large merchant 8700m off your stern. The next, it's a destroyer 11000m off your bow. And the circumstances, just as above, stay the same!

Is my game broken somehow? I'm using some GWX 2.1 mods with Zen Master Caine's LRT (longer repair times) 2.0 and Abrecht Von Hesse's DCN (depth charge noise distruption) Alpha if that's of any assistance. So please, puh-leese help a Kaleun in dire straits if you can, ladies and gents

PS. Sorry for the pishy tone. It's just that I'm totally pished - in the American sense of the word - here... and soon will be in the Scottish, too, should those numbnuts continue this BS any longer :rotfl:

</rant>

I know what you mean, tho I usually hunt with the hydrophones. The sonar guy will routinely track the "nearest warship contact" as some corvette 9000 meters away; meanwhile a DE is relentlessly pounding me with charges, but he somehow doesn't hear him, even if I switch off nearest contact and switch it back on. "Yes you idiot the guy depth charging our ass, 500 meters and closing like a bat out of hell, not the subchaser 6 miles away cleaning his fingernails!"

It's slowly dawning to me that my game ain't in fact any more broken than it was when they originally kicked it outta de door.

It's just that now, having switched to 100% difficulty, I'm of course forced to rely on more-than-fuzzy information when planning my attacks - and it bloody well gets on my nerves. Especially when those eejits happily cannot see a huge fat troop ship 6km away, regardless of spotting it perfectly literally seconds ago! And this in CAVU conditions too

And it's not as if I can't sink anything anymore either. I can - but still, those numbnuts... jeebus, talk about stupid

But then, learning P-A-T-I-E-N-C-E is one of them things making you a better PERSON, no?

Aye, 'tis hard Gonna crack that brewski right now!

S! guys.

At a secret location in Rumania 60,000 Bernard clones are prectising to shout, "Neue Funkspruch, Herr Kaleun."
After 3 days non-stop practice they learn to say," Schiff gesichted."
Once they got it right, they are loaded into taxis of evil and delivered at night into the homes of Subsimmers.

Pass the lager, I need it when reading horror stories.

Nah.

Or at least according to the story you just told us you'd rather need some Cambodian Brown... It being true, though, so do us all

Discipline mate thats the only way.

Some ideas;

Those who offended; are to remain inside till the end of your patrol...no sun...no smoking....no fresh air.

Those who offended; don't get to sleep on cots, they are only to sleep on the floor.

Those who offend; wash the dishes.

Those who offend; grease the eels.
