What are some of the limitations you mentioned?

lacking windows compatability for sims was the one thing that always kept me away from starting to check out linux. Does Wine work reliable? Is it managable for a normal user not knowing all kinds of programmers' background stuff?

I'm not an epxert in linux stuff, and wine is very simple to install.
I tested wine with some windows products (word, excel, illustrator and photoshop) and it works fine, for the games it depend how they handle directX but it seem that almost all games works with wine (except DX10 ones) one one my friend is trying to run FS2004, I wait for the results.
