Highest naval sinkings in a carrer??

Hi there I finished a carrer or almost after 7 missions in the Med starting with Salamis, then moving to Le Spezlia. +I think I transferred to an Atlantic group after 7 Mediterranean missions. Thats when I got one Patrol and was retired.

But in the the Mediterranean I sunk,
1 S class
14 patrol class, ( up to the Black Swans).
11 Destroyers. I know for sure there was Hunts I , II , and III classes, J -K's, and Tribals.
Then the funniest part 6 Dido class. Three in one mission, caught them as they came at me in a perfect ambush one fish each.
There was a Southampton or close to it, I got that one with two shots and a Dido at the same time.
Then the big ships, HMS Rodney, and HMS King George V.

Not to shabby I say.

Now I am back for my secound crack. On mission one I came across 4 dd's on patrol and got one of them.
On patrol three I got to of the same patrol on first shot (2 J-K's). Then the Hunt followed by the Tribal.

So on my fourth mission I am at 4 J-K's, 2 Hunt I's, and 2 other destroyers, plus one Beverton or something like that ( a Black Swan type ), and a Flower class.

But my tonnage so far is only 25 000 in change. Maybe if I am nice and keep the tonnage down I can get further.

By the way I am at 47% realism.

You'll get better tonnage sinking merchies. You should only be targetting warships if it's something special (ie big and important), or you're clearing away a destroyer screen from a tasty convoy to use the deckgun and save some fish. Sinking destroyers and armed trawlers may sting the Tommies a little. Torping a tanker full of avgas, or a troopship full of Yank soldiers ready to bitchslap the fatherland, will hurt them more.

After ten patrols spread over roughly two years, Obltn. z.S. Josef Schtuz and the gallant crew of U-47 have averaged 4 ships per patrol for a total of 280,149 tonnes of enemy shipping. Of this total, the tonnage can be broken down thus:
  • 34 merchants for 225,219 tonnes
  • 6 warships for 54,930 (33,000 of this was a battleship)
The crew will soon embark on their eleventh patrol and there's still almost 4 years and 7 months left in World War II, assuming we beat astronomical odds and survive to the end.

Definitely save your torpedoes for merchants, battleships, and aircraft carriers. Take out escorts if you must to get a clear attack on your target. Attacking and sinking escorts as primary targets is considered a waste of resources.

Even the lousiest tramp steamer will bive you better tonnage than a destroyer. Sinking cruisers and heavies warships is good and profitable sport

The Med is certainly heavier with battlewagons than the Atlantic. Your primary target should always be merchants, but not many if any Kaleuns could ignore the lure of something the size of a cruiser or heavier.

You know there is something strange with me.
In one campain I sank a small nations navy..
So to say. There was two BB's some Ca's never heavy ones and a pile of little guys.
Yes a big convoy is better espically them large tankers.

My best tonnage with VIIC was 101k, when I sank 2 battleships and a couple of merchants. Most of the time I had about 30-40k. After I switched to IXD2, I wasn't so successful anymore, but I get ~75k. In last mission I shot down 48 enemy aircraft (they give you score too), got 78k and 3700 score. But I didn't have the rapid firing zwilling and quad, now I do, so maybe I will get past 70 enemy aircraft down .
