Default The Unluckiest Uboat

My Uboat was just sunk in the funniest and most preposterous way.

I just came upon a nice juicy tanker running very fast. I was able to get myself into position for a nice perfect 90 degree shot. I fired off two torpedoes and then turned more toward it's direction of travel to line up another shot if I missed. One torpedo hit. The other, I watched hit the side, bounce off and deflect away from the ship. I then lined up another torpedo and fired. When I switched to external camera, I saw the torpedo leave the tube... and when I turned the camera toward the ship, I see this stream of bubbles approaching my Uboat VERY FAST !!!

Yep. You guessed it. My torpedo had riccoche'd right off the side of the ship and went right back at me. Unfortunately, I'm not Balz so i couldn't just catch the torpedo in one of my torpedo tubes for re-use so I got pegged. Flooding all over and before I could react... "YOU ARE DEAD"

I wish I could have filmed it !!!
This would have been a fantastic scene for U-Disaster III !
I guess I can't blame Bernard for this one huh ?

:hmm:

of course you can blame Bernard! he was there starting the propellers again to get the torp back for Balz to reuse

Yeah a film of that would have been nice.

Insane - sure it wasn't a circle runner? I've never seen torps bounce off and keep running (unless it's a homing torpedo).

Nope. Not a circle runner. Just a regular old steamer. I have no idea how it happend and I bet I'll never be able to reproduce it again. The stars must have been alligned just right at the time.

Next time I'll try this with a convoy. If I can get the angles just right, maybe I can riccoche it off of several ships and have it come back and hit me !!! 8 Ball...corner pocket !!!

This could be a fun new challenge for the game... sinking ships by riccocheing torpedoes !!

This could be a whole new way to kill those tasty giant ships in the middle of the convoys without actually having to go in there !!!

"If I bank it just right off that small merchant, and then off the bow of that armed trawler, and then off the underside of that other small merchant, I should be able to peg that tanker right on the bow !!"

I fear only Balz is capable of such a feat though.

Me too !! It happened so fast that I couldn't even think fast enough to take a screenshot.

It kind of went like this:
"Now THIS time you're going swimming !!!!'
"Wait !! What the hell is that trail of bubbles !?!"
"OH *expletive*"
*BOOM*
