I hope you got a good sonar guy...

Sounds like you will not see much of anything on this patrol.....

Heavy fog.... windy as hell..... can anyone see where I'm going here?

It doesn't happen. Ever.

My sonar guy is great but my watch can't see Bernard dancing on the prow let alone a merchant we know is 300 metres from us.

The weather seems to get worse with each patrol

At least your crew knows what's going on. On the patrol I just finished I sailed for days in constant rain. Couldn't see more than 300m. My navigator kept reporting no precipitation. I'd hate to be in weather that he thinks is rainy.

One of the previously unresolved problems with SH3.

You could try the Real Weather Fix mod, or GWX2.1 when it's released

My guess is that the devs mistook blinding rain and foam for fog. In the game you will never see fog on a calm day, only in a storm; and when I used SH3 Weather to start with no clouds and no wind but heavy fog, I got a clear day with funny visibility limitations.

I hated SH2, but its fog was much better.

I'm in the middle of the not so perfect storm myself. Been patrolling off the Canaries for 2 weeks of game time now and I've had constant fog. The rain eases off but the fog is an ever present. Starting to pee me off a bit. I'm spending all my patrol time underwater cos I cant see jack on the surface. Only surfacing to charge the batteries. And to cap it all off I've set up about 9 successful intercepts based on hydrophones and 8 of them were neutrals. I've had 2 japanese, 2 argentinian, 3 spanish and 1 irish. The Irish one was tempting, large tanker and a few merchants. It gets really annoying to have to close to within 500m to see the flag in the fog and find that its neutral The next patrol I'm heading to the north atlantic and screw the orders

Hallo out there!

I had the same weather the last 2 patrol
Now I tried the south atlantic ... and ques what happen after 3 days ... you are right 15 m waves, visibilty short behind the bow and stern and fu**** rain!!

Then report of a big convoy cames in ... great "just" 100 klicks away ... all full speed and 5 hours later a DD shot´s me to ground before Bernand could even smell him!

Where can I find the real weather fix and does it work with GWX 2.0??

In diesem Sinne
