Hi folks, please forgive my lack of post counts but I do love coming to these forums and lurking about. I have an issue and am hoping it's nothing and am hoping someone can set me straight.
I have recently reinstalled my SHIII after previously letting it go by the way side when I lost a HD. It is patched to the latest patch and I am not running any mods and actually have failed to try any ever. On an aside note, I do plan on installing GWX but have read there is another update in the works so I will wait till then. Enough of the off topicness, here is my issue: I sailed from Wilhelmshaven and have been at sea for about 3 weeks. It is now August 1940. Still have two fish and won't be heading to home port till after they are set free. My issue is, I am to return to Brest once I am done(I assume that my flotilla has now moved to France). I know where Brest physically is geograpically but the port name is not showing up within the ingame map. Is this going to cause my current mission to be a failure? I would hate to lose out on the tonnage that I have accumulated. Thanks in advance,

Very odd, Brest is there.

Just hit the return to base button that way your know for sure and your tonnege will be OK. Do a save first just to be safe.
I believe you will still need GWX 2.0 as 2.1 is a patch, sure jim will say something. ![]() Welcome. ![]()

Welcome to Subsim SilentNite.
![]() The GWX 2.1 update will simply be an overlay/add-on for GWX 2.0. If you wish, you can go ahead and get set up with GWX 2.0 without having to wait for the 2.1 update. (don't forget to place the armed trawler fix on top) |

I'd continue the patrol for as long as possible and then hang around off Brest until 28 August. Then dock. All will then be fine. |

It happened to me just a couple of weeks ago, there's a thread about it somewhere.
For the time being, you're homeless. Brest is not an option until it shows, and if you go to Whillelmshaven (or however you type that!), sure, they accept you there, but you're only able to replenish fuel, and torps. That's what I did, went to Whillemshaven to say good bye to my family, and then when I went to sea again, I had Brest showing up in the map... after that, it was just a matter of moving my crew and my rusty Type VIIC through Derr Kanal all the way down to the north of France. However, if you just stay at sea untill August 28th, you'll be fine ![]()

I'm currently on my tenth patrol out of Kiel in October 1940 and still wondering when my own transfer to France will take place. My return port is still Kiel.
1st Flotilla does transfer to Brest before 1941, right? Brest has been showing as an Axis port since July on my map.

Thanks for the info guys, I will wait and see what happens after late August as suggested.
I also guess I am going to have to start the download for GWX as well ![]() I will let you know and/or confirm what happens in the next few days.
