Default torpedo issue

In a Italian Forum is born a question.

In SH3 with or without GWX are simulated the torpedos malfunctions reported in the maual?

- Premature trigger of Magnetic pistol at hight latitude
- Loss torpedo's deph until campaign to Norway

Sorry for bad english and thanks

Premature detonations do happen (with and without GWX) and seem to be dependent on weather (not sure about latitide).

I don't know about the depth thing :hmm:

I don't think the depth issue is modelled.
Faulty torps however appear more often than not! And you may not want to use magnetics in heavy seas! As that may lead to premature triggering.
Impacts are more dependable on sometimes, providing your AoB is OK.
Hope it helps!

In heavy weather and ranges over 800 meters, I deactivate magnetic pistol.

I rarely, if ever, use the magnetic pistol. Too flakey. I think the malfunctions with the magnetic pistol are modelled in the game, I'm not sure. Perhaps one of the GWX Team could enlighten us all?

the same here.

Also I found that even 600m can be not far enough for a magnetic trigger.

ok ok ok... what crazy axe would attack at real heavy sea? ... Me!

I also found in GWX that early tigering is only with magnetics... not with impact triggers and the early explosions of torps really decreases after Norway is taken by the Germans. Still if the sea is rough you might rather use impact triggers.

btw the depth issue with the T2 torps I have never recognized in GWX and also not in the one campaign I played the stock version. No depth problems
