So there I am, in my IXC-boat with GWX 2.0 in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The cheat radar (slower time compression at x1024) tells me that something is on.
I take the boat down to 25 metres, shut down the engine and start dialing on the hydrophones. Then this really peculiar sound comes through. The best way I can describe it is a high-pitched oscillating sound; a bit like birds singing, but then again not. I thought it might be whales singing, but it didn't really sound like anything a tree-hugging hippie would mix with a slow drum beat and call "Ode to Nature's Self-empowerment". So what was it? A visual search showed absolutely nothing, but it was pretty foggy and stormy as in all my patrols. thnx/EoE |
