Strange sound contact

So there I am, in my IXC-boat with GWX 2.0 in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The cheat radar (slower time compression at x1024) tells me that something is on.

I take the boat down to 25 metres, shut down the engine and start dialing on the hydrophones.

Then this really peculiar sound comes through. The best way I can describe it is a high-pitched oscillating sound; a bit like birds singing, but then again not.

I thought it might be whales singing, but it didn't really sound like anything a tree-hugging hippie would mix with a slow drum beat and call "Ode to Nature's Self-empowerment".

So what was it? A visual search showed absolutely nothing, but it was pretty foggy and stormy as in all my patrols.

Dolphins I believe. IIRC the whale "sounds" that you hear on various media have been altered from their original intonations.

Dolphins, eh? Well, I had no idea. To be honest it must have been two "confused" male dolphins fighting over a silk scarf, 'cause it sure sounded weird.

Yes it must have been dolphins.

What really concerns me is that Flipper showed up on the FuMO.

If you can torpedo one, you get extra renown !!!

Wild_skipper 12-22-07 03:14 PM

Where do you find these flippers ?
And where do you find those big bunker forts ?

Blacklight 12-22-07 03:26 PM

It is a well known fact that "Flipper" works for the Americans ! Just watch the TV show !!! "Flipper" is to be torpedoed on sight !

Not to mention the new secret weapon: Mr. Limpet.

Just wait outside southern England... Eventually they walk out on their legs and begin blasting everything with their death rays ! It's quite a sight to behold !

Well for someone named Flipper its no surprise he squealed like a pig.

Flipper was cool (one of my favorite tv shows), he/she kicked a** uhh dorsal; I couldn't waste Flipper. Now that Incredible Mr. Limpet dude is another matter; firing one down the throat is an appropriate phrase for that one. Having nothing left but microscopic Fish n Limpet bits would be too good a fate for him I say.

As for those Big Bunker thingys; just wait until you hear 'em rip one, you'll know it when you hear it and know right where they are....wait

...Wild Skipper said Big Bunker F-O-R-T-S, I thought you meant..nevermind just me mistaking the vowel for a similar looking vowel.
