Hi,
A while ago i posted a thread in which i asked if there was a mod available that changes the color of the persicope crosslines. Because i've had some difficulties with aligning the horizontal crossline at the waterline of a ship at night. (this for measurements to estimate distance) Especially when there is no moon and the sea is really black, i found i very hard to align the black crossline. It turned out there was no mod for this. So i've made one myself. Since it is my very first mod i would like your opinion. I hope you like it, i'm happy i can finally do something in return... (please give me some credit if it isn't as good as you expected ![]() I still need to learn a lot i guess... Anyway, the color is now green and it is visible during the day against the blue background of the sea and sky also. I've made one for the attack persicope, one for the obs. persicope and also one for the TBT. The mod should be JSGME compatible. Maybe some of you guys will be able to use this and further improve it so that the black (standard) crosslines will change places with my colored version when night falls?! (at the moment when the red mask activates) Here's what it looks like at night and day: ![]() DOWNLOAD: http://files.filefront.com/Green+cro.../fileinfo.html Regards, fvd |

Looks great. Why did you choose the green color? Something you have seen in RL before? When used it just changes the lines or the whole lense? JSGME ready?

Exactly, green because it matches with the bearing numbers at night.
Although at first i was thinking to make it pink-red like the night-mask color. But then i thought green is probably a bit better because it's a more familiar color for displays, hard to explain, just a feeling i guess. Yes, it onlu changes the color of the grid, the lens itself is not affected by this mod. Regards, fvd |

The green color works very well for me. It's extremely visible in all light conditions that I've encountered so far.

Great thanks to you fvd! I've had problems at night with the scope myself. Timely mod if I must say so.
