Default Quick question....

Sometimes i see people writing "steamers" or "eels" in different situations. For example: The VIIB sub can hold X many eels/steamers. Is an "eel" a torpedo with electric propulsion and a steamer a torpedo with steam propulsion?

Eel is just a torpedo with any propulsion mate. Steamer - really depends on the context.

Welcome to Subsim by the way.

We normally refer the T-I as steamer because the propulsion is generated by steam, the T-II as electric, as it's propulsion is electric.

The "steamer" has longer range but leaves a wake, which is easier to spot.

The way the game is structured, you can load any combination of torpedoes you want. Personally I load all electrics in the belief that my position will be more difficult to ascertain.

Good hunting!
