Mod Tracking Application - Needed by the Community?

Hi everyone,

As someone who hasn't spent the last 12+ months immersed in the mod forums I find it incredibly difficult to hunt certain mods down and also keep track of the vast amount of mods actually available. Its also hard to track down the latest versions and their compatibility with the different versions of Silent Hunter and other community mods.

I don't want to tread on any toes or start working on something the community doesn't want but it occurred to me that it would be great to have a website application that allowed mod authors to add a listing for their mod and update the links to the mod itself and any version changes and also attached compatibility notes, screenshots and other information. In turn, the subsim community could use the website to browse/search mods and quickly and easily track the latest updated mods and perhaps even leave ratings.

We could call it the Subsim Mod Tracker.

Its just an idea and if it generates a lot of interest and discussion I could easily work on something. In addition I would openly welcome functionality ideas and contributions from everyone.
