Default Torpedo Range

I've searched the forums, and I do no longer have my GWX manuel...

How far does a FAT or LUT torpedo run before it begins it's search pattern?

Been a while since I used any of either one of those .. but if I remember correctly YOU set the length and patteren yourself ...... once you choose the torpedo I ' think ' you also click above or below the button to get the set length and how big of a pattern you want it to run at ......... those settings will be the 2 bigger dials you'll see light up ......

IIRC, the pattern can be set to either 800 or 1600 meters and either run to port or starboard. The distance to where the pattern begins is quite variable. As stated above, at the attack screen, you can adjust and see the actual distance of run.

Note: the electric torpedo has a distance of either 3000 or 5000 meters and may run out of power well before the entire run as shown on the attack map. This is less of a problem with the steam torpedo set to slow which has a distance of 12,000 meters.

Alright, I will check into this, I had no idea you could set the run rate yourself, thanks for the info.
