Default Finally Bought It!

Well, as the title says, I finally managed to get a copy of SH4. I had been putting it off because I still can't actually set up my computer and play it, but Wal*Mart has been taking it off their shelves so I figured I'd better get one while I still could. The bad news is I missed out on getting one with the goodies, and for the same price, so I ended up with the plain-jane version.

That's okay, though. When I finally get a place of my own again (will that ever happen?) I'll be ready to set up and play it.

Default "Welcome aboard" to Sailor Steve?!

If you need a photo/scan of the map that came as one of the goodies, send me a PM.

Welcome to the silent service Sailor Steve. A period of time ashore learning the ins and outs of the fleet boat is very normal just hope its only a short time and then you can hunt some maru soon!!

BTW I did exactly the same thing with SH3, bought it before my computer at the time could handle it so I had it there as soon as I upgraded.

PS prepare to have your socks well and truly knocked off when you load up ROW and some of the other goodies on the SH4 mod forum!

Well, when I get to play with it, I'll be doing that more than actually playing it. First, I plan to pick up SH3 where I left off, and that includes my planned addition to the Ship Names lists for Commander, and a little modding of my own.

I just hope that the "U-boat Add-On" leads to a full SH4-like recreation of SH3, because I want to sail out of Kiel with that beautiful water.

And I hope there is finally some sort of SH4 Commander, because...well, just because.

Welcome to the Pacific (virtual this time )!!!

I'm with you on the X-Pak. When the Battle of the Atlantic looks like reality for SH4 I'm going to volunteer to script about 500 convoys!

Edit: BIG Convoys

Hey, glad you finally bought, even if you can't play it at the moment. If you get a chance to play you won't regret it.

Like you, my version also came with nothing and the map was all I wanted so I just downloaded it and printed it out myself.

I appreciate the offer, both of you. I actually have several real maps, including a couple of period ones. I was just upset that both versions were the same price, and I only missed getting the other one by a few weeks.

As with SH3, the game is the big deal, not the extras. Thanks again.
