Default Some (lame) tips for newbies

Hi

I found out the following tips so far playing SH3 - this is probably know to 99% of the audience but I guess 1% is not too bad considering thousands of players hehe.

1. When on the surface, and after a long time submerged, your batteries need to be recharged. This is done by using one of the engines. But what if you need those extra Knts to catch up on that fast convoy? Well bring up the Chief Engineer and click on the Propeller icon. Then click on Standard operation of your engines, this will disconnect your engine from recharging the batteries and give you extra knots.

2. In the Sound Room, there is a little knob which can be turned to increase the ambient sound - especially useful when you want to hear those water bombs drop from a tincan.

3. Still in the sound room, take control of the hydrophone when being stalked form above. Now whenever you hear the destroyers screws increase in frequence and pitch, that means he is not using his hydrophones to listen to you - what I usually do is go flank and change course away from his bearing. Keep listening, once he slows down, go back to 1knt (remember always be under silent running mode). However this will only work when there is 1 destroyer OR when all destroyers are running fast and none are listening.

Hope these small tips help someone. I sure benefited from these.

Cheers
Shelton.
